05Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technologies, to understand how people use this website: which pages are visited, how people arrive, and what type of device and browser they use. We use this to improve the site.
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google. It collects information such as an identifier stored in a cookie, your IP address, your approximate location, the pages you view and the device and browser you use. This may be personal information. Google may process it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States, as described in section 6.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work if you do. To learn how Google handles this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
We do not use advertising or remarketing tools on this website. If we add any, we will name them here.
06Who we share it with, and overseas disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only where we need to, and only to:
- service providers who help us run this website and our business, including Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery) and Google (Google Analytics), and our professional advisers and IT and software providers
- a regulator, court, law enforcement agency or other person where the law requires or allows it
- a buyer or successor, if our business or its assets are sold or restructured, subject to the protections in this policy
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where this happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider handles your information appropriately. By giving us your personal information you understand that, in some cases, overseas recipients may not be subject to the Australian Privacy Principles.
07Links to other websites
This website may link to websites and services we do not run. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
08Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include using reputable providers, secure connections and access controls.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. After that we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
No method of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
09Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Please make your request through our contact page or by email at hello@visibleedge.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, and normally within 30 days.
We may need to confirm who you are first. We do not charge for making a request, but we may charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of giving you access. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because the law requires us to keep the information, we will tell you why in writing.
10How to make a complaint
If you think we have handled your personal information wrongly, tell us first through our contact page or by email at hello@visibleedge.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it and reply, normally within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
